Feelin a lot of feelings
When I’m going someplace alone like taking my dog for a walk somewhere more isolated or going really anywhere I don’t feel super safe at when my fiancé is at work or at home, I always text him where I’m going in case something happens to me.
I was just walking outside across my apt complex in the dark to switch my laundry over, while I gripped the mace on my key chain with my finger on the trigger, all I could think about is that it’s a damn shame that I feel the need to do these little things for some tiny sense of false security and that if I didn’t and something did happen to me there would be people who would question why on Earth I didn’t do more to protect myself.

Olive has now been with our lil family for a month now! She’s approximately 12 weeks old (~3 months). She LOVES ice cubes, peanut butter, leaves from outside, car rides, snuggling, and finding ways to Houdini her ecollar off when she’s alone in her kennel 🤦🏼♀️😂. She has now mastered shake, and lay down; but sit still needs some work because she’ll mostly just skip sit and immediately plop to lay down 😂 The cats and her have acclimated more, got some more smellings’ in and Lulu will chill in the same room as her now. Super looking forward to talking her on actual walks, and eventually hikes and camping with us. Next week she gets her third round of boosters and MAYBE some new X-rays, maybe. I’m planning to look into some type of agility training to do with her once she’s fully healed up because whatever her breed is, she’s definitely got some type of working breed in there and I know she would thrive with some sort of job or extra energy outlet. Trying to take lots of pictures of her when she’s little and growing so fast to look back on!
